Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

This policy describes how Trade Pool collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Trade Pool website and application. Trade Pool is currently operated as a private Pilot for participating trade contractors, and this policy will evolve as the service does.

Information we collect

Account information

When an account is created for you, Trade Pool holds your name, email address, sign-in credentials (managed through our authentication provider), your company affiliation, and your role within Trade Pool.

Referral information

Participating contractors submit referral opportunities that include contact information about a customer — typically a name, phone number, service location, and a description of the work needed. This information is provided by the submitting contractor so that Trade Pool can verify the opportunity and deliver it to a participating contractor.

Business and company information

Trade Pool records information about participating companies, including company details and contact email, Credit balances and history — including whether Credits were earned or purchased — and requests made under the credit program, such as cash-out and refund requests.

Payment information

Trade Pool uses Stripe, including Stripe Connect, as its payment provider. When a company purchases Credits or receives a refund, or a company or person receives a cash-out payment through Trade Pool, Trade Pool keeps a record of each transaction: its amount, date, and status; the Credits it relates to; refunds, reversals, failures, and disputes where the provider reports them; the provider’s reference identifiers for the payment, the customer record, and any connected payment account; and a short label for a saved payment method — its type and last four digits.

For a payment account opened to receive cash-outs, Trade Pool also keeps the account’s identifier and the status the provider reports for it — whether onboarding and verification are finished, whether the account is able to receive payments, and any restriction the provider has placed on it — together with the status of each payment and payout sent to it.

Information you give directly to Stripe

Card and bank details, and the identity, business, and tax information Stripe requires to take a payment or to open a payment account, are provided directly to Stripe through Stripe-hosted pages and are handled under Stripe’s own privacy policy. Trade Pool does not intentionally store raw card numbers or raw bank-account credentials entered into provider-hosted payment interfaces.

Calls and recordings

Trade Pool Dispatch contacts customers by phone to verify referral opportunities. Where applicable, calls may be recorded, and a disclosure is provided on the call where recording is used. Where a customer is connected by phone directly to a receiving contractor, Trade Pool does not record that connected conversation. Trade Pool also keeps records about calls themselves, such as when a call happened and how it was handled.

Technical information

Like most online services, Trade Pool keeps operational logs — request records, security events, and basic technical details about how the service is accessed. These records help us keep the service reliable and secure.

How we use information

  • To operate the service: verifying referral opportunities, administering Credits, and routing qualified opportunities to participating contractors.
  • To process Credit purchases, refunds (including refunds requested in the application), and cash-outs, and to prevent fraud, errors, and misuse in connection with them.
  • To communicate about the service, such as notifying a contractor about a delivered lead or the status of a submission.
  • To keep the service secure, including auditing access and investigating misuse.
  • To maintain accurate records of referral, Credit, and payment history for participants, and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • To improve the service during the Pilot.

How information is shared

Referral information is shared with the participating contractor a qualified opportunity is delivered to — that is the purpose of the service. Beyond that, Trade Pool shares information only with the service providers that run the platform (such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, telephony, and payment providers), each of which processes it to provide their service to us, and where required by law. Trade Pool does not sell personal information.

Information exchanged with Stripe

To process payments and cash-outs, Trade Pool exchanges applicable information with Stripe. Trade Pool gives Stripe the details of a transaction it asks Stripe to carry out — such as the amount of a Credit purchase, an approved refund, or a cash-out payment — along with Trade Pool’s own record identifiers so the two sets of records can be matched. To create and manage a payment account for cash-outs, Trade Pool also sends Stripe the account holder’s contact email (a company’s contact email for a company’s account, or a person’s sign-in email for a person’s own account), the country, and whether the holder is a company or an individual.

Trade Pool receives from Stripe the status of payments, refunds, and payouts; reference identifiers for payments, customer records, and connected accounts; the onboarding, verification, capability, and restriction status of a connected account; and information about failed, returned, reversed, or disputed payments where Stripe provides it. Stripe also uses the information it holds as described in its own privacy policy.

If you were referred to Trade Pool

If a contractor submitted your information as a referral opportunity, Trade Pool holds your contact details so that Dispatch can reach you, confirm what you need, and connect you with a participating contractor who can help. If you would prefer not to be contacted, you can say so on the call and the referral will not proceed.

Security

Trade Pool is built with security controls appropriate to the data it holds, including isolation between participating companies, role-based access to information, and encrypted connections. No online service can promise perfect security, but protecting the information participants and customers entrust to Trade Pool is a core design requirement of the platform, not an afterthought.

Data retention

Trade Pool retains information for as long as it is needed to operate the service — including maintaining the integrity of referral, Credit, payment, and audit history — and as required by law. Because the accuracy of that history is part of what participants rely on, some records are kept for the life of the service.

Your choices

You can review much of your information directly in the application, including your referral history and account details. For questions about your information, corrections, or other requests, please get in touch using the contact route below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Trade Pool develops, and will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Material changes will be communicated to participants through the service.
